It was my girlfriend’s 16th birthday and we had a day planned. She came round to my house in the morning and we decided to go out and go ice skating (much to both our dismay). We went ice skating and had a great time laughing at each other’s feeble attempts at looking professional. We decided to go home early because ice skating had not proved to be as easy or successful as we thought. We got back home and on the way, i bought some contraceptives although at this point we had no idea that we would go that far. When we got back to my house it was empty and we went upstairs to my room. My heart was literally beating its way out of my chest. My girlfriend went into the bathroom saying that she was going to powder her nose or some such thing. I sat on the bed wondering what the next few minutes had in store. My girlfriend came out and all i remember is us agreeing to have sex.Those few moments whilst i put the condom on were like years. I was so nervous!!! But we had gone out for a long time and knew each other very well. It was nerve-wracking but it felt so right. I knew that this was the right time and above all, the right person. My girlfriend and I are still going out to this day and i believe that losing your virginity is something that needs to be saved until the right person comes along and that way you haved no regrets. As a Christian, i had my moments where i wondered if i had done the right thing but every time i see my girlfriend’s face and experience her company, i know that she was and still is the perfect person.
