My first time was waaaay back in 1997. I didn’t know what I was doing, and my equipment was probably obsolete, but I read about how to do online and what I read was really encouraging.
I was so excited! I had heard stories about how to do it. All my friends had been doing it for years. I was scared, but I figured what did I have to lose?
Hey! It didn’t cost anything to try, and if I liked it, I could keep doing it for only $49 a month. What a bargain.
The ad said it I could do it in 10 minutes (or less!) but it took me about three days to get it done the first time. After that it took less and less time every time I did it.
The more I did it, the better and faster I got. People started noticing how good I was at doing it and they started offering me money to do it. That was cool!
In 1998, I quit my job and I became a full time professional ! I charged anywhere from $1500 and up. I even charge folks $250 an hour to listen to me talk about doing it over the phone.
I guess I’m jaded because nowadays, I can do it without even looking up. I even wrote a book about how you can do it.
Sometimes I don’t even have to do it anymore, because I have some software that does it for me.
Well, you never forget your first time. Be careful when you do it so that you don’t get a virus or worm or even break the law!
