Ted Miller joined our church choir about a year after his wife died. He was 35 and I was 20. He had a beautiful tenor voice. I heard it right behind me while we practiced on Thursday evenings. We had a little social time after practice, each week — cookies, cake and coffee or tea. It was week No. 3 when I noticed that Ted began paying attention to me. Usually the other men in the choir sort of congregated together, as did the women, but Ted was different, and visited with me about a lot of things, even though he was 15 years older. After a few weeks, he asked me if he could drive me home. I usually came with another girlfriend, so I said, O.K. I was kind of drawn to him. We parked in front of my house that night. I still lived with my parents. It was a cold December night, just before Christmas. It was warm inside his SUV, and we talked and talked, and then, much to my surprise, he made a move and I didn’t resist. We ended up having sex, right there while parked. I had never before had sex, but he made it very special. It didn’t hurt much and then I began to enjoy it. After that, we began dating and had sex quite a lot at his house. He taught me so much. My parents thought he was too old for me, at first, but they have come around. We were married a year ago. Now we have sex every single night. On Thursday nights, we have it in the SUV. I love it!
