I had just gone away to college, the first time I had ever really been away from home. I had just met my roommate who was selected randomly by the university. She was everything that I loathed about girls my age, vapid and superficial. Since we didn’t have much in common, I sugggested that we pop in a dvd. Just as we were sitting down to watch the movie, there was a knock on our door. I got up to answer the door and it was Derek, a friend from high school. I was so excited to see him (and to escape my roommate) that I grabbed my jacket and said we should go for a walk.
As it turned out he had gotten a single room, but didn’t know anyone, so he had come in search of me. We walked around the campus for hours until he asked if I wanted to get something to eat. We walked back to his dorm and ordered food. He had a bottle of vodka in his cabinet which we drank half of before the night was over.
After our snack, he had said something which I found funny in my slightly drunken state, when I turned to look at him he was staring at my lips. And then he kissed me. It was sweet and relaxed, if not a little sloppy. We kissed and kissed and it seemed to last forever. Before I knew it he was undoing my pants and I was undoing his. I got up on the bed and he laid on top of me. He reached for a condom and then it happened. It felt odd, uncomfortable and hurt at times, but for the most part I was just shocked by how close I felt to him. I understand that men can have sex without attachment, but for a woman it is so different. A woman has to accept a man into her body, at anytime he can overpower her, hurt her. It is a trust issue that isn’t balanced between the sexes. Luckily, he was an ideal partner.
It didn’t rock my world, I didn’t orgasm or scream his name, but it was gentle and caring. I wouldn’t change my experience especially because I dated him for two years following that night. He was a perfect first person for my first time.
