Tom was my first love. I grew up watching a bitter divorce – then my Mom had a lot of boyfriends – a LOT of boyfriends – so sex was something I planned on saving for marriage. Then I met Tom. We started as friends. When he looked at me, I felt so beautiful. I was a good 15 (ok, maybe 20) pounds puffier than I am now so I assure you – not all guys made me feel that way. Tom and I lived in the same co-ed dorm… again we started as friends… eventually were in a relationship. He was the first guy who ever saw me naked (and again – I was PUFFY back then!), the first guy who I let go down on me (that had always been waaaay too intimate for my past make-outs and boyfriends) and the first guy I went down on. I loved it all – exploring – learning – mostly because I trusted him so much. I knew he wouldn’t do something and then just leave me – like so many of the guys who had done those horrible “conquest” things to other girls… so many of whom I knew. Anyhow, it was just after my 20th birthday. We’d already decided we were going to do ‘it’ – but hand’t pick a date or anything. We were both virgins. On a Saturday night we went to see a movie – it was that slutty movie “Wild Things.” Well… it got us feeling wild alright! We went back to my dorm, made sure my roommate was out for the night and then we went for it. It hurt a bit – and then it HURT SO GOOD. We both came – we used a condom – and afterwards he went into the bathroom to clean up. From there he called back at me, “Hey, did you LOSE anything?!” (referring to the virginity that we both lost) and I replied, as I would again today, “Hell no. I didn’t mis-place a thing.” Losing my virginity with Tom was one of the better things I’ve ever done – it wasn’t an accident, it wasn’t desperate or scary – it was loving and wonderful.
