Shirley DeLand’s husband, Dale, died when he was 35. It was a very rare form of fast-growing cancer.Shirley and Dabn had been our neighbors for about 12 years. They had moved in next door right after they were married. So, our families were quite close. After Dale’s death, my Mother found out that Shirley needed help around the house, doing various odd jobs, because she worked and didn’t have time to do these chores. It was mostly outdoor work, mowing the lawn in the Summer, snow-blowing the driveway in the Winter, and doing some heavy lifting here and there when that was needed. I was 16 and pretty strong. Anyway, as the months went by, I got to know Shirley even better than I had during all the years they had lived there.Frequently she invited me in to have coffee and talk with her. Shirley was a nice looking woman, also in her mid thirties. In fact, I don’t think I’d ever seen a prettier one around town.Gradually there came to be a big attraction between us, and one Saturday afternoon, we found ourselves embracing and kissing in her kitchen.Then she led me into her bedroom. She asked me if I’d ever had sex before, and I told her No, which was true, although, I’d tried to with a couple girls in high school, with no success. Shirley told me she’d teach me. She was obviously lonely for Dan, and hadn’t had sex in many months.When she took off her clothes, my manhood really sprang to life, and I couldn’t wait to get out of my sport shirt and jeans. Then we went to bed, and she showed me exactly what to do. I didn’t need a lot of instruction. As I entered her body, it felt so damn good. Greatest thing I’d ever experienced. I began to fuck her slowly, and then more rapidly, and finally I came inside her several times, and she whispered how wonderful it was! She urged me to continue and I did. I was there over an hour that first time. She said there were no worries because she had been on birth control for several years. I began to see Shirley more and more, and our sex became more frequent. She taught me how to make love like an expert. Later, I went off to college and I didn’t see a lot of her anymore, except during Summer vacations. We got together a few times and enjoyed each other for an afternoon here and there. But the she told me she had met someone, and they were going to get married. So our sessions in her bed had to stop. That was 14 years ago, but I still think of Shirley, even though I am now married myself with two children. She was a wonderful woman whom I’ll never forget!
